Session 15 Announcement

Start Date : October 5th, 2009
End Date : October 19th, 2009

Theme : Supercharge Weapons

I like this. I might take a break from my Z4R engine to participate.

Although I'd rather not be constricted to having to 'charge the basic shot' like in R-Type. I hope no one minds.

Definitely "over-the-top", I can't wait to start tinkering!

Although I'd rather not be constricted to having to 'charge the basic shot' like in R-Type. I hope no one minds.

I read that more as an example rather than a restriction.

The theme really does grab my attention. Cheesy Hopefully I'll have time to participate. If not, I'll be playing the entries. I'm actually trying entries from the previous session that I missed.  Seems like I missed many good themes! D:

I'm not sure if I will participate myself, it looks like we'll expand Bullet Crave into an XBLIG game.

I'm not sure if I will participate myself, it looks like we'll expand Bullet Crave into an XBLIG game.
Heh, I keep trying to develop something for IG, but havent got a shmup of that level yet. Course, mine doesn't have to be a shmup and I've started to design other concepts, but I just cant really focus and in the end my first release will probably be a shmup due to these sessions keeping me focused.

Anywho, I kind of want an alternate game over screen that says "Congratulations, you unmade existence!"

I'm not sure if I'll enter or not guys... My mind has been pretty focused on Nerf guns lately. O_o

You could also one-shot kill some bosses in R-Type II with a point-blank shot from the second beam charge level.  That wasn't easy to do, though, since the second charge level only lasted a couple seconds before resetting.

This is true, and partially because I was having so much fun putting in a little effort and one-shotting the boss is why I supplied this theme in the first place Smiley

I had some silly ideas for outrageous charge guns, but I don't have the time Sad

Damn.  That means I could spend another 7-8 hours tracking down the lethal memory leak.


Or I could just take the next few nights off and consider this contest a non-starter. 

I think I'll stick with that.  The contest did what it was supposed to do for me, which was give me an excuse to start coding again and focus on some basic architecture.  I'm 90% of the way to a good flexible engine now - only 90% left to do...
