there's a new one... can't remember the name, but it's all over the radio and TV lately.  looks like they offer emulated classics.  gametap or something?

gametap is a multi-platform emulator that you pay monthly for, it also allows you to play a lto of windows games from companies like Take 2 asnd Ubisoft.

I found out that there's a company (in my country even :D) still distributing budget PS1 games... perhaps interesting to turn to if you have a PS1/PS2 project near completion? Their URL is http://www.phoenixgamesgroup.com/uk/

Is anyone going to try and publish their own? I've researched it and it looks feasable if I don't expect myself to sell more than 100 copies (and I don't expect to sell that many!  ;) )

Just wondered if anyone bothered with self-publishing anymore. All you'd do is buy the DVD cases and blank CDs that you can print designs onto, print the case cover and case inserts yourself, and give away free t-shirts.

Ah well, I'll try it one day and let you know how I fare.

Well I've self published 4 out of 5 of my own games online and it works out fine, sold a lot more than 100 copies. But I guess you are talking about retail?

It's funny but I bet if you made up a nice looking case and sold your games on a market stool you might make a decent wad of cash.

Beware of "exclusives", they sound great at first until you realize your're stuck and can't market your game elsewhere. ;)

What kind of agreements do these types of sites generally have?  It'd be nice to use a portal but I'm certainly not willing to give up too many of my rights to the software I make.
