Re: Angels of time. A demo finally!

No, not "not running" as in being unplayably slow; "not running" as in doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING when I click on the exe.  Vista does that with pretty much every Game Maker game that I've tried to run, so I'm sure that it's not a problem with my MONTH-AND-A-HALF-OLD graphics card.

Alright, since you know it's an issue with Vista and Game Maker games you can mention that.  Instead of being all terse like you were with a "Wouldn't run...".  Seems to be a growing problem, though, as others are using Vista and we need to educate the developers to create Vista builds (I think it sounded pretty easy).

Re: Angels of time. A demo finally!

I didn't mean to be terse; I thought(stupidly) that since other people with Vista had problems with Game Maker, and that I had said earlier that I had Vista, that it would be self-explanatory.  Sorry.

and in case you're planning to ask why your joystick or joypad doesn't work:

hope that helps.

Most people here won't keep track of such information.  Kind of hard to remember everyone's OS.  Shouldn't you be playing GTA, anyway? Wink (I'm kidding!)

Re: Angels of time. A demo finally!

One problem though, this game was made in gamemake 7.0, so it should be Vista compatible

Re: Angels of time. A demo finally!

Your game is very good.
I like the graphics (but fullscreen mode blurs them) and the music, especially in the clouds level.
The thunder clouds level is well designed but the other levels have some unfair situations like
this warping mid boss!

I have 3 suggestions:
-add respawn invulnerability, maybe 2 seconds
-convert your game to 60 fps and it looks much smoother
-reduce diagonal movement speed to 0.7*speed

Re: Angels of time. A demo finally!

The main problem with 60 FPS/hz is to make it stay at 60 FPS.

Re: Angels of time. A demo finally!

i don't think it will be that much of a problem to make it stay at 60.

but...

There already IS respawn invulnerability :S

It's not really that unfair, you need to stay in the middle and pay a bit of attention to what it is doing, but I might make him act this way only in hard mode or something...

Edit: Converting the game to 60 fps prooves to take too much time, I'm sorry.

Didnt notice  Smiley
Its a bit short but maybe ist ok.

Converting to 60 fps is much easier than you think.
Make a backup then double all cooldowns and half all speeds.
Its worth it.

Re: Angels of time. (COMPLETE)

This version's not working on my Vista box... a console-type window opens, then nothing.  Just seems to stay there.

Re: Angels of time. (COMPLETE)

And previous versions did work? That's really odd...
All I can think of really is to unpack the zip if you didn't...
