[null1024's entry -- omnigun] FINISHED!

So. I debated to my self against entering this because I didn't have anything much ready last time. BUT, I decided to start doing a game for an entry, and...

I AM DONE. Done. DONE.

I like the dithered style, glad to see you working on something Smiley

Re: [null1024's entry -- omnigun]

maybe makew the dithering stronger, because right now the colors of the player blend too much with the background. clarity is always a plus

Re: [null1024's entry -- omnigun]

It looks much clearer in motion. I originally wanted to add more fake-transparent background layers, but, it wasn't very clean [it just looked like too much, and it either went too fast or too slow].

Re: [null1024's entry -- omnigun]

Ok, progress:

Status--------------
Graphics: done
Gameplay: done
Music/sound: done [may change the song, may also change the engine]
Level: 80% [not totally sure about some parts]

Note: Woah, that screenshot is bad... you can't even see your ship, just your gun...

The free hosting site is not responsive at all tonight.  Can you attach the game to your first post?

It seems like a solid concept. I could not use the directional keys in combination with z,x,c this is a little known flaw in many keyboards. Interesting color choices.  Grin

A little off topic, but I've got that problem with my laptop. Is there anything I can do?
Edit: Also, to add on, Omnigun is awesome! I love abstract looking games. The music is pretty awesome too.

Great entry.

The graphics fit together well and the music is pumping!

I felt very unco-ordinated trying to swivle the gun around.

Added an attachment for those unable to d/l.

[wow, it always works for me...]

And wow, I'm suprised there were so many problems with keyboards... I'm on a Dell Latitude D500 [which has pretty bad multi-button support...]

Re: [null1024's entry -- omnigun] FINISHED!

quite donno what to say abut this, im not too ken of the graphic and didnt come very far. as this is about the session the mechanic is what i would have thought of as first, but its hard to play for me just because z/y is mixed up. the shotangle doesnt turn fast enough, yet its at last accurate. the randomly generated levels (right?) can turn out pretty boring, guess thats the deal if you free yourself of the bourdon to come up with a set level and have only two weeks...
after all the music was terrible and the graphics really werent clear. you should keep the background of less saturated colors or the ship of different color, as i guessed before.

Re: [null1024's entry -- omnigun] FINISHED!

Level was non random. Also, sorry about the keyboard, usually expect US keyboards around here [every shmup ever uses z/x/c].
Turning was slowed, because when I sped it up, it was too hard to aim.
Also, video [mostly a test of a screen recording app I just got]:
