Contest Extension

Due to recent events occuring which are out of my control, I have decided to extend the contest to keep everything running smoothly.  The official extension will be announced sometime next week...

Re: Contest Extension

I think an extension will be good for many developers in the contest. It'd give me some time to get ready for that whole pjio thing too, since I couldn't enter in that with the current deadline.

Hmmm... but the site's back up right away.  And it's not as if anyone uses it for collaboration.  Just wondering what is gained by extending the deadline.

Re: Contest Extension

I don't want to go back on my word after arleady hinting about an extension, however.  March is a little too long to wait!   FEB 1st is the deadline, you must be registered by Jan 21st.  More info at the contest page.

I understand and agree with that, once you mention an extension you can't go back.  I apologize for sounding like I was complaining, more just wondering out loud.  February 1st is a good choice... though I think to be honest with myself I'll try to finish up by Jan. 1st otherwise I'll procrastinate even more... it's not like I'll get more features in.  Except, maybe, sound! Re: Contest Extension

I actually came to this forum to say "it looks like I won't make the deadline, but thanks for setting up this contest to help motivate me to work on a game", but now that I see this extension, so never mind. Cheesy

Re: Contest Extension

Hi, I woudl like to ask if how many hours are still left before the deadline?

The forum's time is January 31, 2007, 12:23:18 pm.  Does that mean that we still have about 12 hours left?

Thanks!!!

And how do I upload a 7 MB file here.  Posting attachments tells me the limit is like 2MB per post.

Re: Contest Extension

You should get your own GMT conversion so that you can be sure that you're right but currently it is 13:37 GMT.  I'm in the central time zone and we're GMT - 6 (so if you're in the USA eastern time is -5, mountain is -7 and pacific is -8).  So that leaves people with 8ish hours left to work.

But I would suggest finishing up early, testing for bugs for a couple hours, and uploading it with time to spare.  Just in case there are any unforeseen problems!
